US troops fight 4-hour battle at Afghan village (AP)

This is good news indeed. As you can tell, even when ambushed our forces can pull a victory out of their hats (helmets). Zero US soldiers killed v.s. 5 dead Taliban. It was a good day.

However, this part of the article did make me chuckle a little...

You are kidding me, right? I didn't know there was any fighting going on in Afghanistan. I thought it was only drones bombing wedding parties and the ocassional women and children.

Good to see no Freindly casultys, except for the pride of the two that twisted thier ankles but thats to be expected in that terrain. Been in it my self and it's no joke, GOOD job Lt and all the soilders for brining the fight to the enemy

what I don't understand is why we run away everytime the taliban attack us, why don't we counter attack and wipe them out?

Since we have a good article to read there will be many of the critics that usually say pull our forces out we are losing anyway, in turn will applaud and say go team go. Stay put! I think all we really need is a ton more support for our troops and troops to remember the fight

We are wasting lives for no other reason except to prop up the military industrial complex and the war profiteers. Will humanity ever learn anything??

There's only one good intersection in these villages and the fighting is fierce between the 4 drug store chains, 4 c-stores and 4 fast food places looking for the best location.
